Are you having sleepless nights over your dog or cat’s behavioural problems? However well looked after and loved pets are, on occasion problems can develop which can add stress to everyday life. I am here to help! I am a vet with ten years experience in general practice and then eight years helping animals and their owners with behaviour issues. I have seen it all and am not judgemental as I know how difficult these situations can be.

My name is Rosalind Wrightson (BVSc MSc CCAB MRCVS), and I run a behavioural service called Wright Behaviour. I cover the Bristol and Somerset area, treating behavioural problems in dogs and cats.

Every pet is an individual, and so are their problems, but the issues I help with include:

  • Dog separation problems
  • Noise phobias, such as fear of fireworks
  • Aggression towards people
  • Conflict between dogs in the home
  • Anxious cats
  • Toileting problems in cats
  • Conflict between cats in the home
  • NB I am not currently seeing dogs whose main issue is that they respond negatively to other dogs on walks

I work in partnership with owners, to identify the underlying causes of an unwanted behaviour. We can then put together a plan using positive training techniques, rather than punishment-focussed methods, to address the causes and so improve the quality of life of both owner and pet!

I don’t currently offer dog obedience training sessions, although they can be of great benefit. If you would like help with issues such as recall and following verbal cues, then you could visit the website of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers UK (APDT) for further information:
